Jo and Aleks tied the knot at The Grande in Hepburn Springs, a 1920's Guesthouse in Daylesford
Jo and Aleks tied the knot at The Grande in Hepburn Springs, a 1920's guest house near the Daylesford forests. Jo had been looking for a non-traditional wedding gown and fell in love with New Zealand creative Brooke Tyson's dreamy, vintage inspired pieces. Brooke customised her Freya gown with big 70's bell sleeves and beautiful embroidered silk - it was a dream to wear. Aleks wore a gorgeous textured wool suit by Oscar Hunt.
Aleks's family background is Latvian and rather than having a first dance, they decided to get all their guests on the dance floor for some Latvian danči (folk dancing). As is tradition, Aleks wore a giant crown of oak leaves, Jo wore a flower crown and some friends did some quick demonstrations for those who were new to the danči game. The dancing was very high energy and joyful and kicked the dance floor off in high spirits!
On a side note, when you see the date on the wedding invitation, you'll notice this was right before things got a little topsy-turvy. This was an incredible day to go out before the reality of 2020 hit.
"We fell in love with it's big wrap around verandas and serious Grande Budapest Hotel vibes."
